This is the review I found from Goodreads:
Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.
Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.
Beautiful Disaster is one of the books I finished fast because I can’t get enough to put this book away. This book belong to YA genre and yet another story about untameable bad boy who suddenly head over heels to a girl that apparently virgin, tough and able to tame an untameable boy. The story has that line when a girl able to change a man rapidly to good ones even with a lot of trouble.
Travis and Abby is two different people with flaws. Travis is a man who earns money through fights and manages to mark his territory by getting into every woman panties. He has that heroin qualities: smart, handsome, tattooed hot-build body with bad boy ass which makes every woman squirm and throw their body to him except one woman, Abby Abernathy. Isn’t it weird a bad ass who doesn’t study can get an A in almost subject? While Abby moving miles away across the country in getting away from his dad and his past life, expecting a new opposite life from which she had before until she bump into Travis a man-in her eyes, will only make her back to her avoided life.
Travis find Abby challenging as only Abby the woman who didn’t melt to his appeal like other women would do, Abby didn’t throw herself to get laid. Travis love at the first sight with Abby when she watched him fighting and get into the circle in a result she was shower in blood. They start as a friend and then best friend before become lover, it took lot for Travis to get Abby, as Abby felt an internal fight in which he hate Travis that remind her of her past and Parker a man who seem perfect to a better life. That’s how love make people blind, Abby choose Travis.
The rest of the stories include small fight and then big fight until they get married. Travis wish to fight in Vegas with a shark loan Abby avoided to get more money in intend to give Abby a better life lead them into a painful separation. Before finally getting married.
I love Travis for being a hearts and flower man. He gave Abby a nickname Pigeon and have it tattooed in his wrist, which I found it sweet. To imagine a big guy covered in tattooed do that, possibly something I like. This book I recommend for someone in his 20s because it’s raw with all the hate and love and fight and sex. I thought first it was an erotica genre but their sex scene is nothing compared to Bared To You so I’ll put it in YA genre with sex spices.
I found it odd because I don’t feel Travis is someone who’s in his 20s and Abby just 18 and yet they drink like they’re adult and legal. And the fighting, who’s Travis? A local college fighter manages to knock down a pro fighter? Abby ability to play cards and gambling. I found it ridiculous. I think it’s better that they’re in their last year of college not first year. It’s more acceptable.
But well despite every dissatisfaction I love this book. I was capture by Travis and Abby love; I could feel all the feeling. Once you read it, it’s impossible to put it down. The book is sexy (Travis is), appealing, addictive and beautifully a disaster : ) so 4/5 is fair enough for me.
Here I put some quotes I love the most from the books.
“To douchebags!” he said, gesturing to Brad. “And to girls that break your heart,” he bowed his head to me. His eyes lost focus. “And to the absolute fucking horror of losing your best friend because you were stupid enough to fall in love with her.” ― Jamie McGuire, Beautiful Disaster
“It’s dangerous to need someone that much. You’re trying to save him and he’s hoping you can. You two are a disaster.” I smiled at the ceiling. “It doesn’t matter what or why it is. When it’s good, Kara… it’s beautiful.” ― Jamie McGuire, Beautiful Disaster
